I/H Gala:

The Open 400m event will take place straight after school today. All participants to make their way to the pool asap after school.

 

LITTLEWOOD:

Any Littlewood boy still looking for a boater can collect from Mr Rudd at 1st break. First come, first serve basis.

 

MATRICS:

All matrics who did not bring winter uniform for the matric photo today, must please get hold of a parent to organise winter uniform, before Tutor period.

ENGLISH WRITERS’ COMPETITION:

McNAUGHTON:

All MN boys swimming in the gala this evening must meet in C24 @ 1st break.

 

RHODES HOUSE:

A reminder to the whole house that there is sandwich making tomorrow morning, from 7:00 in D11. We encourage everyone to bring at least 1 loaf

Swimmers are to all have their Wynberg Speedos for the Gala. Rhodes swimmers are to meet at 16:45 at the pool.

 

CAPSTONE CAMP:

All boys going on the camp meet Mr. Van Der Merwe in B34 at 1st break. You MUST be there.

 

ENGLISH OLYMPIAD 2016:

Boys who entered the Olympiad are reminded that the Examination takes place next Tuesday – 1 March. Consult the list outside C32 for names.


GRADE 11 LO:

Reminder - Task 1 must be handed in next Friday 26/02/16.

Task 1 (a) - please note  after 1.2 (worth 6 marks) - the activity 1.6, the self-assessment rubric and extension activity on page 35  are not for marks, but hopefully will help you learn more about yourself! Task 1(b) - THE PETITION - the first bullet which states that the “prescribed form” can be obtained from the “Clerk of the Papers” IGNORE THIS DIRECTIVE! Bullet three: choose any MP and write his/her full name (first name and surname). Follow the rest of The petition guidelines

 

Hawthornden:

The Hawthornden is being de-commissioned during the course of today and there will be extensive work done to the field this week. The playing surface is out of bounds as the field is being re-seeded.

INTER HOUSE GALA:

All Houses are reminded of the Inter House Gala taking place on Tuesday. All boys are expected to be there. If you cannot be there for any reason you have to excuse yourself from your House Head. Please invite your family and friends to support the evening. Reminder that the first event (400m) is swum on Tuesday during Tutor and long break. Please bring your costumes along. Please note that you have to swim in a Wynberg Boys High School Speedo

 

OLD BOYS SUMMER SPORT:

All boys are reminded of the Old Boys Sport taking place on Campus on Thursday after school (Basketball, Cricket, Tennis and Water Polo). Please come and support the Wynberg Teams. All boys playing on the day are reminded that they are required to attend a post-match function at the end of the day at 18h00 at the Bill Bowden where they will receive a doughnut and cool drink. The players are requested to bring a plate of eats for the post-match function. Cricketers are reminded to supply eats for tea.

 

SOCCER:

All players who made the 1st team last year – the tour party to Grey BFN – to see Mr Rudd at 1st break in his office for an important meeting.

 

ZONAL ATHLETICLS:

All Athletes to meet in Library at 1st Break today

 

ATHLETICS:

There will only be athletics practice this Wednesday for those boys working on field events with coach El. All other athletes will not have practice this Wednesday.

 

CRICKET:

Urgent meeting for all U19 5th, 6th and matric team cricketers during 1st break in D34.

U19 KO Cup T20 Final: Wednesday, 24/02/16. 15:30.

The 1st XI - defeated the Western Cape Sport School yesterday to advance to the final of the WP U19 KO Cup. The team will face either Bishops or Rondebosch in the final scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon at the Vineyard Oval in Claremont.

 

All 2nd XI; 17A; 3rd XI; 15A; 15B and 14A cricketers - as well as all available Littlewood boys, are expected to be at the Vineyard Oval tomorrow to support their 1st XI. All other Wynberg cricketers/ Wynberg boys – matrics in particular – are encouraged to be there too.

We’ll walk to the venue – as a unit – from Wynberg. Meet in C21 at 14:40 tomorrow.

Dress-code: school uniform.

 

CANOEING:

There will be no canoeing this afternoon as the school swimming gala early events will be taking place from 15h00

 

HOCKEY:

A training/trial schedule has been placed on the sports notice board.

Make sure you are aware of when you need to report to training/trials.

If you can’t make it you must excuse yourself from the relevant coach.

 

BASKETBALL:

All team members to arrange purchase of playing uniforms ASAP
