Extra Maths on Thursday with Miss Lindsay is cancelled. She will be available on Tuesday (10 Nov) instead.

 

NB Gr 11’s - it is time for you to offer to buy the Gr 12 LO textbook “Successful Life Orientation” from one of your Grade 12 friends. If he is kind, he may even hand it over free of charge! The important point is that EVERY GRADE 12 LEARNER MUST HAVE A COPY OF THE ABOVE BY JANUAR 2016

MAJOR PRODUCTION AUDITIONS:

Major production auditions are happening on the 5th and 6th of November from 3pm to 5pm. They will take place in the AMC and you must perform a dramatic monologue preferably in an English accent. Matrics of 2016 are welcome to attend.

 

LO DAY, THURSDAY 12th October 2015:

The following pupils were absent from school on LO day, 1st October 2015.

Unless these boys can come forward with a valid excuse for missing LO on the last Thursday of the 3rd term, in other words, a doctor’s note,  a note stating that you were away on tour,  the work that has been set (see below) will be done and handed in on time.

Failure to do so will lead to a further penalty w.r.t. PE/LO marks for the term.

The task is: “Choose one of the world’s leading sportsmen or women and find out how and why he/she got to the top.”  Write a short essay of at least three hundred words.

Gr11s must hand in next Thursday – 12th November.

 

Hand in to Mr. MacLean and the Sports Office.

 

MATRIC EXAM:

The Matrics are writing exams in the Hall. Please be Quiet and avoid the area.

OUTDOORS SOCIETY HIKE:

Any boy interested in a hike up Table Mountain via Skeleton Gorge on Sunday can sign up on the Outdoors Society Moodle page, under “Culture -> Societies and clubs”. Speak to Mr J Taylor if you need more information.

Failure to comply with the kit requirements as per the school rules will result in penalties.

 

CRICKET:

3rd team cricket - will be playing a T20 against SACS on Silverhurst A TODAY from 3:30

 

U14B - cricket to meet in D23 at first break today

 

Friday Nets will operate with Mr Nauhaus between 13:30-16:30 on Friday, 06/11/15. Wynberg’s keenest cricketers – irrespective of team – should attend.

 

CANOEING:

There will be a Junior Canoe Sprint Regatta at Peninsula Canoe Club, Zandvlei, this Saturday morning, 7th of November. Registration is at 08h00 and the racing will begin at 09h00. Events are 200m; 500m; 1000m and 3000m. Entry cost is R30/paddler to be paid at the venue. WBHS paddlers may use PCC canoes and paddles at no cost for this event. WBHS paddlers do not need to be registered with WP Canoeing to take part. WBHS paddlers entering are to paddle in WBHS sports kit – i.e. WBHS branded shirts (golf shirts). Paddlers from schools such SACS, Fish Hoek Senior; Bridge House, Paarl Boy’s High, Paarl Gym, Paul Roos Gymnasium – other Paarl and Stellenbosch schools and possibly Bishops – will also be participating. All interested, please let Mr. MacLean know by Thursday 5th November, 2nd break (MC).

All 1st, 2nd, 6th, 7th teams are reminded of their tennis matches TODAY after school.
