Exam Tip no.3

(1)     REDRESS - to set right, to rectify something.

(2)     PROTOCOLS – prescribed procedures

(3)     ENDEMIC – generally found among certain people, or in a certain area. 

(4)     VIABILITY – the ability to grow and develop.

(5)     Make sure you review the BILL OF RIGHTS.

The final balance of LO Work will be handed out tomorrow. All relevant marks for the YEAR MARK (apart from the second exam) will be on the LO Notice Board on Wednesday.

REMINDER: The LO Examination on the fourth September! Nine to eleven.

 

GRADE 10 STUDY GROUP:
The grade 10 study group has started. Compulsory attendance for all boys at risk.

 

GRADE 11 HISTORY:

Last call for any Grade 11 History learners interested in attending the acclaimed anti-apartheid play, ‘Sizwe Banzi Is Dead’, at the Baxter Theatre on the evening of Tuesday, 01/09/15. See Mr Hewett in C21 at 1st break.

 

CHESS:

The first three Chess teams who are playing against the Old Boys tonight must meet Mr Moser in his office at the start of first break.

For the Major Production at WGHS. Sign up on the Cultural Notice Board in the A-Corridor. Note the commitments before signing up. Do this before the end of 1st Break or Monday

 

 

NEW DRUM TEACHER:

There is a new drum teacher at the music block everyone Monday. There is still some space for new pupils who are interested in learning how to play drums.

Claude Cozens is a young professional drummer who has performed around the country and also abroad like France and Norway. He teaches all styles.

Go speak to Mr Botha or Mr Hellaby at the music block if you are interested.

 

NUSSBAUM CONCERT:

Boys wanting tickets for the Nussbaum Concert next Thursday are to write their name and no. of desired tickets on a list in the AMC. Soloists, Matrics and Grade 11 musicians and choristers take first preference but all performers are welcome to put their name down for tickets. 

 

VISUAL ART:

We need 2Litre used ice cream tubs in the art room. Please hand in to Co or Dd

14D Hockey Training Schedule: week ending Sunday, 30/08/15

Tuesday, 25/08: Spanbou. 15:00-17:30. Meet in C21 at 14:40

Wednesday, 26/08: Astro training. 13:30-15:00

Thursday, 27/08: Astro training. 15:00-16:30. Meet in C21 at 14:40.

All members of the team are expected at all training sessions this week. Speak to Mr Hewett if you foresee any problems fulfilling these commitments.

WATER POLO TABLE OFFICIALS COURSE:

Tomorrow evening Tuesday 25th August in D31 – you need to have completed this course if you are going to Table at Melliar Cup and SA Schools this year (MC)

This week – Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons – please put names up on the list on the Sports Office wall (MC).
